Ashford Valley Pony Club - Area Team Showjumping at Hole Park, Rolvenden

I lost count of how many horses attended this event but there were enough to keep me and Amy busy taking photos all day long. Unfortunately, we were not kept as busy printing them. The result being that we had our lowest sales figure for a busy show so far this year. If any one cares to comment on the reason(s) why - please feel free to hit the button below...
Only two competitors felt like putting their details on the orders forms so, unfortunately, there will be no slide show for this event.

Why you had so little sales
It was a hot day and there wasn't a spare moment, or for our branch anyway, with one's Pony Club teams constantly competing in different arena. People, like myself, looked at your name and knew that they could go online to view their photos, but seeing as you are charged to view them, maybe you are not going to get any sales online either, as people like myself may not buy one if it isn't a particularly and therefore are not willing to risk losing money for the sake of some photos. So you could have had a sale from me, but as you charge to view, you certainly will not.

Judging by the amount of people I saw viewing the monitors throughout the day, I think most people know if they have a photo worth buying or not. I did announce several weeks ago that I was no longer going to put photos on the website. However, I have relented with a few conditions. You are free to choose whether you want to accept them or not.

Hello, 2 things:
-you said that there will not be a sideshow of this event, does this mean that I can not view my photos online?
-second thing, I think that the person above meant that they did not have time to view photos on the day and were planning on doing so at home, just like me, until they realised they had to pay!

Sorry, but I don't think that it is right that you have to pay to view...I know you say that you announced it a few months a go, but funnily enough not everybody is constantly on your website, its a first this year for me!

I appreciate that you provide a comments page on your site. And i also think the charge of £2.50 is ok. Unfortunately there are no photos of my daughter to look at on your site. So there will be no orders this time and I would appreciate the refund of my money please. Ring 3 Novice Jumping Ashford Valley PC Area

'First thing', the slideshow is a selection of "Featured Riders" who have filled in their details on the order form. These images are then submitted to the magazines for publication. As there were less than 3 riders who completed the form, a slideshow is not possible.

'Second thing', I know what the person above meant. They, like you, expected me to put the photos on-line just like I have been doing for the past 9 years. A free service that I offered which was paid for by those who bought their photos.
Unfortunately, times are changing, costs are rising and money is getting tight. While the viewing of the photos on-line has risen considerably, the actual sales are dropping. After all, why would someone want to buy a photo when they can view (or copy) it for free?
As most people nowadays expect to be able to purchase their photos on the day, a facility which requires a considerable investment in equipment, there is no longer any real need for the added expense in providing an on-line viewing service. Except, for those who just want to "have a look" at their pictures. I'm sorry but from now on to "have a look" is £2.50.
To buy - No Charge!

Peter, I'm glad that you, along with many others who have signed up, agree with the new system. I'm sure then that you would also agree that to make refunds to those who didn't make a purchase would not only defeat the object of the subscription but would also be unfair to those who did.
However, in your case, I would suggest having another look as I found six photos of your daughter.

So, one will not be able to view one's photos online even if one does pay the £2.50 that you now charge?

in relation to the above posts, i think it is atrocious that i have to pay to LOOK at a photo... i think you will lose sales and your reputation for good, honest service!

Please re-read what I said above, slowly...

There's no charge to look when you're at the show. Perhaps you would rather I didn't put them on the internet at all?

Some people may not want to give out bank card details over the internet, as in my case and now as a result of this cannot look or purchase a picture.

If you do not want to use your card on the internet, I think you will find it difficult to purchase the photos from the website.

What I find interesting is the comments here are mostly negative and from people who are anonymous. Comments from my actual customers have been 100% positive.

I was just wondering if you had pictures of the 2nd round of intermediate jumping. I looked on the 1st round on the day but i had no pictures taken, and you said i would need to wait for the second round if i had any taken. There wasnt any uploaded of the 2nd round when i went to look before i had to dash home because of a horses injury. I didnt really want to pay to view the images if i had no pictures taken. I would of certainly brought a picture if i had one taken but the first round had no pictures of individual riders. All in all i would be greatfull if you could inform me if any pictures of individyual riders were taken in 2nd round. thanks.
